Les 3 soeurs is a series Bas Relief art work composed of single zelliges, 2 x 2 cm, molded to reveal 3 female bodies, combining geometric and organic forms accentuating a subtle volume, creating contrast and light reflecting in an inspiring way, denoting each one’s authenticity and uniqueness.
Through this work, Samir Mazer returns zellige to its most intimate origin : the body. Each tessera becomes a unique fragment of skin, each relief a breath held in clay.
The tradition is not abandoned but inhabited anew — a sacred dialogue with matter in which transformation is not declared, but felt.
